Drupal: Views Slideshow 3.x

Ein Posting auf LongLake erklärt die Änderungen in Views Slideshow 3.x. Da hat sich einiges getan, sehr cool!

The biggest change you will probably experience is the change in the widget management. Widgets are the bits and pieces that are NOT the main slideshow frame, for example pagers are such widgets. But you can also implement widgets that simply show the progress of a slideshow - nothing can stop you now, its really, really easy.

Now custom modules can implement different widget related hooks both in PHP and in javascript to declare their control, or progress display. In contrast to the old views slideshow code, where you practically had to duplicate the whole slideshow code, now you only define widgets.

  Es genügt ein Verzeichnis mit dem Namen “_recycler_” im fileadmin-Verzeichnis zu erstellen und alle Dateien in diesem Verzeichnis und Unterverzeichnissen werden in dieses _recycler_-Verzeichnis verschoben. Nachdem Ihr das Verzeichnis angelegt habt, wird der Name des Ordners automatisch von TYPO3 in “Papierkorb” umbenannt. Probiert’s mal aus.

  Das eine oder andere Design gibt es vor, dass Inhaltselemente wie Text mit Bild oder eine Erweiterung ein anderes Aussehen als der übliche Inhalt erhalten sollen. Dazu kann man die in jedem Inhaltsobjekt enthaltene Auswahlbox Rahmen verwenden. Wer diese Funktion bereits mit TYPO3 4.2 oder vorher verwendet hat, die Inhaltselemente in DIV-Containern mit der CSS-Klasse “csc-default” gewrappt sind.

Slides ist eine weitere schlanke Slideshow Lösung mit jQuery:

Slides is a crazy simple slideshow plugin for jQuery. It’s easy to implement, customize and style. (…) With features like looping, auto play, fade or slide transition effects, crossfading, image preloading, auto generated pagination, the list goes on.
My favorite feature of Slides and main reason for its development is you never see multiple slides fly by. You get to the end and it loops. You click from slide 1 to 5 and slide 5 just slides in from the right.

MediaElement.js ist ein weiteres HTML5 jQuery Video Plugin.

jQuery: Cycle

Das jQuery Plugin Cycle ist eine fantastisch simple Möglichkeit mal eben schnell eine Slideshow zu realisieren.

The plugin provides a method called cycle which is invoked on a container element. Each child element of the container becomes a “slide”. Options control how and when the slides are transitioned.

Und wer mit einem fadeIn / fadeOut zufrieden ist kann auch die Lite Version verwenden die mit 3KB kaum ins Gewicht fällt.
