Das Python Script gibt es hier. Und nein, das ist keine sichere Methode um Daten zu verstecken, aber eben ein netter kleiner Trick.

Im Sicherheitsblog gibt es einen Text über die Fallstricke digital geschwärzter Dokumente:

“Druckt” man nämlich z.B. schwarzen Text auf schwarzem Grund in eine PDF-Datei, so enthält letztere genau das, was man vorher auch hatte: schwarzen Text auf schwarzem Grund. Ein kurzer Umweg über die Zwischenablage reicht hier schon aus, um den Text sichtbar zu machen. Gleiches gilt für schwarze Rechtecke über dem Text.

Die Idee, ein PDF sei eine Art Foto dessen, was man auf einem Ausdruck sehen würde, ist weit verbreitet (besonders bei der “muss-ich-drucken-weil-will-ich-lesen”-Fraktion). Leider ist dies nicht so. Selbst die Umwandlung in eine Grafik hat seine Tücken. Beherrscht das Grafikformat Layer, so bleibt der Originaltext u.U. ebenfalls erhalten.

PDFs erstellen mit PHP und Haru

Hm interessant neben der PDFlib extension gibt es anscheinend auch die libHaru extension um mit PHP PDFs zu erstellen.
