schema.org: Structured Data Markup

Google, Bing und Yahoo! haben neben RDFa, Microformats, Microdata und was es noch so gibt ein weiteren Ansatz für Structured Data Markup vorgeschlagen: schema.org

Auf der Seite gibt es bereits Markup für: Event, Organization, Person, Place, LocalBusiness, Restaurant, Product, Offer, AggregateOffer, Review, AggregateRating.

Ich habe Microformats konzeptuell immer nett gefunden, wede aber natürlich auch schema.org mal testen. Ich hoffe nur das sich langsam mal ein Weg herauskristallisiert der breitere Unterstützung findet.

Im microformats Wiki finden sich erste Gedanken für eine Version 2.0.

Tatsächlich praktisch finden ich diesen Vorschlag:

when only a root class name is specified, imply the entire text contents of the element as the value of the primary property of the microformat. e.g.

• “hcard” implies “fn”
• hcalendar event - “hevent” - implies “summary”
• “hreview” implies “summary”
• “hentry” implies “entry-summary”

Microformats

Emily Lewis beschreibt für scriptjunkie{} Microformats, konkret ein Teil 1 XFN, hCard in Teil 2, hCalendar und im letzten Teil die Kombination von Microformaten.

One of my favorite things about microformats is they can be combined to further increase the semantic richness of your content. In fact, several microformats require or recommend the inclusion of other microformats. For example, author information in both hReview and hRecipe (two more microformats indexed for Rich Snippets) should be marked up with hCard.

Da schau an, es gibt ein Tool von Microsoft was ich mir morgen direkt mal ansehen werde: Glimmer.

Glimmer also has an advanced mode, providing a design surface for creating jQuery effects based on your existing HTML and CSS.

Überhaupt ist die MX Labs Seite einen Besuch wert. Da gibt es z.B. Oomph: A Microformats Toolkit oder Gestalt. Na da werde ich dann morgen wohl mal längere Zeit mein virtuelles Windows bemühen
