  Starting with version 1.6, it is possible to provide a localized version of the files that reside in includes/defines.php i.e. includes/defines.php and administrator/includes/defines.php . This makes it possible to move a variety of files outside of DOCUMENT root. The actual process is quite simple, but it is advisable that you make sure you know what you re doing before proceeding. To start, copy the file {ROOT}/includes/defines.php to {ROOT}/defines.php and the file {ROOT}/administrator/includes/defines.php to {ROOT}/administrator/defines.php. Once you have copied the files, it is necessary to edit both new files and add the lines: define _JDEFINES , 1 ; define JPATH_BASE , dirNAME __FILE__  ; underneath the defined _JEXEC or die; line.

Sehr cool und featurereich ist Galleria.

Galleria is a JavaScript image gallery framework built on top of the jQuery library. The aim is to simplify the process of creating professional image galleries for the web and mobile devices.

In today’s experiment, we created a little gallery that plays with the black and white versions of images. The idea is to have an initial grid-like view of the different categories or albums. In the background we can see the black an white version of the current image of the hovered album. The hovered item will have a color animation.

Und eine Multimedia Gallery for Images, Video and Audio

This multimedia gallery for images, video and audio is a progression of our previous galleries. The idea for this new gallery is to integrate video and audio as exhibit pieces along images.

  Duplicity backs directories by producing encrypted tar-format volumes and uploading them to a remote or local file server. Because duplicity uses librsync, the incremental archives are space efficient and only record the parts of files that have changed since the last backup. Because duplicity uses GnuPG to encrypt and/or sign these archives, they will be safe from spying and/or modification by the server.

  This module adds a menu browser to the content forms. Users don’t choose "parent" and "weight" for the menu item they are adding. Instead they choose a menu, and the menu gets loaded using ajax. The users then places the menu item inside the menu by clicking on the item they want to place the menu below. New menu items may also be placed as children of existing menu items.

  To use this module install and enable it the normal way. It doesn’t create any tables or variables. It replaces the menu part of the content forms.
