Offensichtlich hält die EU-Kommission an ihren Plänen für eine zentrale Fingerabdruckdatenbank aller EuropäerInnen fest. Und schon stehen die ersten Interessenten auf der Matte.

Unterdessen wurde auf einer nicht-öffentlichen Sitzung des Innenausschusses des Europäischen Parlaments bekannt, dass amerikanische Geheimdienste bereits Interesse an den Daten bekundet hätten. “Die Amis haben schon konkret angefragt”, so ein Sitzungsteilnehmer, der anonym bleiben wollte, gegenüber ORF Futurezone.

If you know about design patterns, you’ll be able to build solid OO applications faster. But when your entire development team knows the various patterns, you can suddenly have very high-bandwidth conversations. You no longer need to talk about all the classes you would use here or there. Instead, you can talk in terms of patterns to each other. “Well, I’m referencing a singleton here, then using an iterator to go through a collection of my objects, and … ” is much, much faster than going through the classes, methods, and interfaces that make up these patterns. This efficiency in communication alone can be worth taking time to go through a couple of sessions together, as a team, to study patterns.

hCard Mapper

Im NotizBlog bin ich auf die JavaScript Klasse hCardMapper gestoßen.

hCardMapper ist eine JavaScript-Klasse (basierend auf Prototype) um Kontakt- oder Profil-Formulare mit Hilfe einer hCard automatisch zu füllen(…).

Das schöne an hCardMapper ist seine flexible Struktur. Die JavaScript Klasse ist so aufgebaut, dass sie eigentlich Microformats-Parser unabhängig funktionieren sollte, da sie die Daten über einen “Proxy” abfrägt. Die einzige Vorgabe ist, dass dieser Proxy eine JSON formatierte hCard (jCard) zurückgibt.
